7 Questions to Ask When You Get Stuck

A funny thing happened to me on the way to my computer the other day. I got stuck. No, not in the literal sense. More in the "what the hell am I going to write about today?" sense. There I was, mid-stride between my kitchen and my make-shift home office, cup of tea in hand and an ignorant, blank stare on my face. You know those scenes from the first season of the TV show "Chuck" where all hell is breaking loose around him, and Chuck gets this panicked look on his face that says "omg, omg, OMG! What do I do?" Yeah, it was kinda like that, except without the "flash." (OK, everyone on three, 1, 2, 3, "STAY IN THE CAR!" - If you have NO idea what I'm talking about here, go watch "Chuck." So after the initial panic subsided, I sat down to think about what I was going to DO about being stuck. I read a ton of posts on … [Read more...]

Giving Your Audience The Best You Have

Have you settled for "good enough?" Many entrepreneurs and bloggers reach a point where they're willing to accept less than their best in an effort to be more productive. Either they slap something together quick to get it online, or they take something they've put hours of work into creating and pay little attention to it's presentation. Sad isn't it? I find it ironic that the very people that say they sell quality products, provide stellar services, or only write the best content for their audience are so willing to give less than their best in other areas of their business. Take, for example, the service provider that claims to be an expert, yet is inconsistent in their follow-up. The consultant who brags about the results they help you achieve, yet is lousy at returning calls and e-mails in a timely fashion. Or the blogger who writes powerful content yet is sloppy in their presentation, slapping it online in an amateur layout thinking "good enough." We're … [Read more...]
